Easy to make for a crowd, these savory pie bites are fun to fill with whatever your heart desires. We chose some of our favourite fillings. Feel free to be creative with what you fill yours with!
What you need
INGREDIENTS
Ready-Made Pie Crust
Egg Wash
Croque Monsieur:
1 cup bechamel
1/2 cup grated gruyere
1/2 cup chopped ham
Grated Emmental cheese
Chicken Fajita:
1 cup shredded chicken
1/2 cup cooked peppers and onions
1/2 cup cream cheese
1 tbsp fajita seasoning
Paprika
1 cup cheddar
Cheeseburger:
1 cup cooked beef mince
1/2 cup grated cheddar
1/2 white onion diced finely
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Sesame seeds
Pepperoni Pizza:
Chopped mini pepperoni
Grated mozzarella cheese
Pizza sauce
Oregano
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
- Mix all the ingredients together for each filling.
- Place pre-rolled pie crust into an ice cube tray. Press into the center to create a small well. Place a 1/2 tsp of a mixture into each well. Brush all edges with egg wash and top with another piece of rolled out pastry.
- Using a rolling pin roll over the tray to seal the edges. Cut the excess pastry from around the edges and flip over onto a cutting board. Cut through the sealed edges to create individual cubes.
- Brush each with egg wash and sprinkle with respective garnish:
- Croque Monsieur- Grated Emmental
- Chicken Fajita – Paprika
- Cheeseburger- Sesame Seeds
- Pepperoni Pizza – Oregano
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve with dips and enjoy!

Loved the idea but made a big mess. Pastry dough kept tearing and didn’t stay together when I turned over, and some squares wouldn’t come out. I took all the messy dough and put in pie pan and covered with other messy dough.

i went to make apple pie bites for grandsons birthday
worst experience i ever had
did not use applie pie filling used apples(first mistake)
secondly placed ready made crust over cube tray
tried to gently push down and they all ripped, tore whatever.
after trying to repair the damage, I couldn’t get the pie crust to release from tray.
any suggestions on this?? wiould like to try it again

Be sure to spray the ice cube trays with PAM first off. Secondly I would make sure the pie crust is very cold. It rips when it gets to warm. Sorry you had such a bad experience. 😦

This is a good idea but my pie crust keeps tearing so i used pizza crust instead. It works just as well!
