Tsuga is a genus of conifers in the pine family Pinaceae. The common name hemlock is derived from a perceived similarity in the smell of its crushed foliage to that of the unrelated plant poison hemlock. In fact, this oil (by Young Living) has been recognized as safe by the FDA, so is safe to take internally if you so choose.
The ORAC score of Tsuga is pretty impressive. I like to mention the ORAC score because antioxidants are pretty well known these days for suppressing free radicals.
An ORAC score lets us know the power behind a food or oil. For example berries are recognized as having high ORAC scores, and therefore are considered great antioxidants. The ORAC score of tsuga is 7,100, compared to 2,400 for blueberries and 1,078,700 for clove oil!
Tsuga has been associated with balance, uplifting and grounding. You may want to diffuse this oil if you’re looking for these types of aromatic benefits. You may also find it useful for meditation, yoga, and restoring your connection to the earth. (You may also place a drop on your third eye for meditative purposes.)
Some ailments that may benefit from Tsuga are:

-respiratory conditions
-skin conditions
-venereal diseases
Tsuga has been used as:
-an analgesic
-an anti rheumatic
-a blood cleanser
-a stimulant
